Seasonal Fun in Lincoln

Whatever time of year you stay with us at Forest Pines, there’s always plenty of things to do in Lincoln. Here’s some of our favourite things to do each season…

Shopping (40 minute drive)

Shop ‘til you drop.

Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter is a hub for small businesses. Spend the day checking out the homemade wares of the locals before heading down Steep Hill for the more mainstream stores.

Arboretum (40 minute drive)

Pack a picnic.

The Arboretum is one of Lincoln’s many beautiful green spaces, perfect for a sunny spring day. Enjoy the serenity of the lakes and fountains, as well as the soft sound of birdsong from the local wildlife.

Lincolnshire Show (30 minute drive)

Celebrate agriculture.

The Lincolnshire Show is held at the Showground every summer as celebration of agriculture, aviation, food and heritage. Watch the Shetland Pony Grand National or the cooking demonstrations from the Lincolnshire Kitchen, there’s something for everyone.

Asylum Steampunk Festival

Try something new.

If you’re looking for slightly quirky things to do in Lincoln, this festival might be for you. The Asylum Steampunk Festival is the largest, and longest running, in the world. Celebrate the innovation of a steam-powered world and dive into the steampunk style.

Ghost Walks

Beware the spirits.

Lincoln has several haunted spots, and it’s never scarier than at Halloween. The Lincoln Ghost Walk even has a seal of approval from Tom Hanks, who went on one while filming in Lincoln Cathedral. If that’s not a sign, what is?

Street Food Festival

Chow down in Lincoln.

Every year, Lincoln offers up a massive street food festival. With food from across the world, you’ll need all four days just to try everything once. And it’s not just food, there’s also a bar where you can try handmade moonshine all the way from Berlin.

Christmas in Lincoln

Spread Christmas out this year.

While Lincoln no longer has a Christmas Market, they’ve decided instead to spread out the Christmas joy across the entire month December, as well as taking the celebrations citywide.

Thor’s Tipi Bar

Take the chill off.

Take a seat next to the fire and get warm with delicious homemade food and a good drink. This Nordic themed pop-up bar gives you a truly cosy feeling on those cold winter days. Make sure you get in quick before it disappears again.
