Weelsby Woods
35 minute drive | Time: 30 minutes approx
Meander through the trees.
A combination of forest and open fields, Weelsby Woods is one of the best walks in North Lincolnshire. You can take one of the many paths through the woods, sometimes you might even end up back where you started. Dogs are welcome.
Roman & Viking Circular
50 minute drive | Time: 3 hours approx
Challenge yourself.
Take a walk through the Lincolnshire Wolds and see what you can spot. This trail is popular for birdwatching, so you might get lucky and see some rare birds, or even a bird of prey. It’s truly one of the best walks in Lincolnshire. Dogs are welcome but must be on leads.
Hubbard’s Hills
55 minute drive | Time: 45 minutes approx
Stroll along the streams.
Hubbard’s Hills has been a popular spot for walks and picnics since its’s opening in the early 1900s. The trail itself takes you through the trees and along a stream formed by a glacier 40,000 years ago. Dogs are welcome.
Cleethorpes Beach
32 minute drive | Time: 30 minutes approx
Breathe in the fresh sea air.
Cleethorpes Beach is one of the most picturesque stretches of coastline in the UK. Simply bask in the sun, do some birdwatching, or even go for a quick swim in the sea on your walk, it’s up to you. You can also stop off on Cleethorpes Pier for a quick rest. Dogs are welcome but are advised to be on leads.
Whisby Nature Park
40 minute drive | Time: 1.5 hours approx
Just outside Lincoln, this family-friendly reserve features lakes, woodland trails and a visitor centre with café and play area. With way-marked routes ranging from about 1.2 to 3 miles, walks typically take 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on how far you go.
Fossdyke Canal Trail
35 minute drive | Time: 2.5 hours approx
Stroll, jog or cycle along the Fossdyke Canal Trail - a smooth, level route following Britain’s oldest still-navigable canal, built by the Romans around AD 120. Stretching for approximately 6 miles between Lincoln and Saxilby, the trail offers scenic waterside views, wildlife spotting and peaceful paths away from traffic.
